OTTAWA —New Democrat MP Sylvain Chicoine (Châteauguay–Saint-Constant) acknowledged the work of thousands of Canadians who volunteer their time to organizations, today in the House of Commons.
“Because the current Conservative government continues to abandon the least fortunate, volunteer work is becoming more and more invaluable,” said Chicoine.
In the last year, the MP had the opportunity to recognize the involvement of the following citizens by awarding them with Jubilee Medals: Marika Draper, Raymond Simard, Célina Yarish, Howard W. Graham, Joseph Henri Dollis, Michel Gendreau, Georgette Dulude Fyfe, Daniel Villeneuve and Bernard Boyer.
“A big thank you to all these generous volunteers, who have a positive impact on our entire community,” added Chicoine.
“I would also like to congratulate Pauline Miron Gaudreau, who received the a National Assembly Medal for her more than 50 years of involvement with various community organizations, including Marie Reine de St-Constant, which raises funds to help women in difficulty,” concluded Chicoine.
